YTI is one of Ireland’s leading yoga teacher training organisations.

YTI was founded in 2000 by a group of five yoga teachers – Marie Lennon, Helen Morrow, Maureen Nightingale, Linda Southgate and Elma Toland. YTI is a registered charity and company limited by guarantee. The Chairperson of YTI Maureen Nightingale, was recently appointed General Manager by the new Board of Directors.

Aims and Ethos

The aims of the organisation are to provide professional training for yoga teachers and to promote yoga throughout Ireland.

The ethos of the organisation is to ensure that all our graduates are equipped to teach yoga postures safely, with the emphasis on the therapeutic aspects of yoga.

Mission Statement & Objectives

The main objective for which Yoga Therapy Ireland was established, was and is to operate as a non-for-profit organisation, while providing and advancing Yoga education and its safe practise nationally and internationally. And to this end – to provide the highest quality accredited yoga training at all levels for those who wish to teach Yoga, as a life plan for health management and wellbeing.

Supporting the Yoga Therapy Ireland Mission Statement, the main objectives for which Yoga Therapy Ireland was established are:

  • To operate on a non-for-profit basis.
  • To promote Yoga in Ireland by ensuring our graduates are highly knowledgeable, confident – and competent to share Yoga and its benefits with people of all ages regardless of gender and ability.
  • To provide Yoga training at all levels – from Foundation to Advanced Teaching Skills; Yoga Teacher Training; Pregnancy/Mum & Baby;
    Children/Teens/Special Needs; Cancer Care; Sports and Chair Yoga in accordance with the Yoga Therapy Ireland course Syllabus and Training
    specifications, to an excellent standard and quality, so that the knowledge and experience of Yoga may be made available to an ever increasing audience in
    a professional and safe manner.
  • To provide, through its highly trained Teachers, up to date information and education in respect of the good practice of Yoga and all its health benefits.
  • As a member of the Yoga Alliance International; the International Association of Yoga Therapists; British Wheel of Yoga; Aontas and Ireland Active, to set
    and uphold the highest standard nationwide for training and education.
  • To provide and promote regular Continuous Professional Development training days for Yoga teachers nationwide for the benefit of all users.
  • To seek to promote Yoga and its benefits throughout Ireland and abroad through our literature; in-house magazines and social media avenues and to act as a source of general information and reference for all users.
