A fantastic opportunity – definitely not to be missed!
Do twists detox the liver? How does stress affect digestion? What is the pancreas anyway?
Join Matthew Huy, co-author of The Physiology of Yoga, for a fun and information-packed day all about how yoga affects your digestive system — from a scientific perspective.
In the only workshop currently scheduled at YTI to focus on the digestive system, we’ll start the day with a dynamic asana practice then sit down for an interactive presentation looking at the anatomy & physiology of the digestive system.
In addition to answering all of the questions above, we’ll also look at the latest research on how ADHD and Parkinson’s disease are linked to your gut microbiome as well as the evidence behind whether yoga can help people with irritable bowel syndrome or even inflammatory bowel disease — and what the difference is!
A segment will also be devoted to separating fact from fiction and knowing who to believe when there are so many conflicting opinions in the world. You will leave the workshop with a better understanding of how to look after your own digestive system and inspired to share the information with others!
The day will be scheduled as follows (but subject to minor modifications):
